Frequently asked questions
How is GPA calculated?
Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours; the sum is divided by total credits. A 4-credit B (3.0 × 4 = 12) moves your GPA more than a 2-credit B (3.0 × 2 = 6).
My school uses a different scale — can I still use this?
Yes: enter numeric grade points directly instead of letters (e.g. 8.5 4 on a 10-point scale). The weighted average works the same on any scale.
Do pass/fail courses count?
Usually not — most schools exclude pass/fail credits from GPA. Leave them out of the list.
