Frequently asked questions
How do I enter the durations?
Two formats: h:mm (hours and minutes — 2:15 is 2 h 15 min) and h:mm:ss (1:30:45). Prefix a line with - to subtract it, e.g. an unpaid break. Hours can exceed 24.
Why decimal hours?
Timesheet and billing systems usually want hours as a decimal: 7 h 30 min = 7.5 hours. Multiply by your hourly rate and you have the invoice amount — no minute-to-fraction mental math.
Can the total be negative?
Yes — if you subtract more than you add, the total shows with a minus sign. Handy for checking how far under a time budget you are.
