Word Frequency Counter
Paste any text and see which words appear most — with counts, percentages, and an option to ignore "the, a, of" filler.
Frequently asked questions
What is this useful for?
Spotting overused words before submitting an essay or article ("very", "just", "really"), checking keyword density for SEO drafts, analysing interview transcripts, and building vocabulary lists from foreign-language texts.
How are words counted?
Case-insensitively — "The" and "the" are one word. Hyphenated words and apostrophes count as single words (don't, well-known). Numbers count as words too.
What's a healthy keyword density for SEO?
There's no magic number, but if one non-stop-word exceeds 3–4% of your text it will read as repetitive to people and to search engines alike. Write naturally, then use this counter as a sanity check.
