Tip & Bill Split Calculator
Enter the bill, pick a tip, and see what each person pays — in any currency, with an optional round-up so nobody digs for coins.
How much should I tip?
- United States — 15–20% at sit-down restaurants; 20%+ for great service.
- Canada — 15–18% is typical.
- UK & much of Europe — 10–12.5%, and often already included as a service charge; check the bill.
- Japan, South Korea, China — tipping is not customary and can even be refused.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work in my currency?
Yes — it's just arithmetic on the numbers you enter, so dollars, euros, pounds, rupees and yen all work the same. (For yen or other zero-decimal currencies, ignore the decimals.)
What does the round-up option do?
It rounds each person's share up to the next whole amount. The tiny extra goes to the tip, and nobody has to make change.
Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax amount?
Convention in the US is pre-tax, but many people simply tip on the total — the difference is small. Enter whichever amount you prefer as the bill.
