Another player, locally — there's no computer opponent here. Take turns on the same device, or use it as a quick tie-breaker between two people.

Is my score saved?

Only for the current session — the X/O/draw tally resets when you refresh or leave the page.

Is there a way to never lose?

Yes — with perfect play from both sides, Tic-Tac-Toe always ends in a draw. The first player only has a practical edge if the second player makes a mistake, since the game is small enough to fully solve.
